One killed in early morning shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- One man is dead after an early morning shooting Saturday in the 500 block of Birchtree Lane in Fort Wayne.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department , officers were called to the scene around 12:30 Saturday morning, after an individual in the area heard a gunshot.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim lying in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced the man dead on the scene.

A dark colored vehicle was seen leaving the area immediately after witnesses heard the gunshot, however investigators say there is no suspect information, and no arrests have been made.

The victim's identity will be released by the Allen County Coroner's Office once family has been notified. The incident remains under investigation.
