FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- The Allen County Sheriff's Department is asking for your help in solving a recent robbery at the Walgreens on State Road 1.

On Friday, January 11 around 8:30 p.m., a woman entered the store and approached the checkout with an item.  When the cashier scanned the item, the woman pointed a black handgun at the cashier and demanded money.

When the cashier was unable to open the register, the suspect then turned the gun towards a customer and demanded the customer's purse, then fled the store with it.

The purse contained an undisclosed amount of cash and several credit cards.

The suspect is described as a white female in her early 20's, around 5'3", with blonde or brunette hair.  She was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, yoga pants, and white tennis shoes.  She also had either a lip or eyebrow piercing, and a lot of eye makeup.

If you have any information on this incident, please call Detective Schmidt at the Sheriff's Department at 449-7466.
