FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Thursday for the new SportONE/Parkview Fieldhouse.

Andy Norton, one of the partners of RCI Sports Management, said the facility is 57,000 square feet and was redesigned close to 30 times before they started construction.

Norton said there are four outdoor sand volleyball courts, eight indoor volleyball courts, six indoor basketball courts, a training center, locker rooms, and weight rooms.

There is also a full service restaurant called Jimmy's Grill, which was named in honor of a fallen partner of RCI Sports Management.

Mayor Tom Henry said Fort Wayne's economy will also benefit from the new facility.

"When teams come to play in Fort Wayne, they will be staying at our hotels and shopping in our malls," Henry said.

The new SportONE/Parkview Fieldhouse is located at 3946 Ice Way in Fort Wayne.
