FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Residents in Columbia City, New Haven, and Garrett will soon have a new way to get their internet. Starting August 22, Open Range Communications is bringing Internet, WiFi, and Digital Phone Service to the area through a 4G wireless network. The communities will be among the first in the country to receive Open Range’s portable wireless service.

“Delivering the latest technology to the communities we serve is a priority for Open Range,” said Ruth Ann Cooper, the Company’s Indiana General Manager. “With the Freedom 4G, we replace your Internet modem, phone service, WiFi, router and answering machine with one simple device. We call it a Magic Box because it can make these five devices and the complexity that goes with them, disappear,” Cooper added.

Do-it-yourself activation frees customers from needing to wait for a technician to setup services or install unsightly antennas on their rooftops.

Open Range is also hiring local sales agents as the Company continues to build its presence within the Indiana communities.

Open Range Communications is an American broadband wireless Internet services provider focused on delivering perfectly simpleSM high speed Internet and Digital Phone Service to 546 communities across the country. By 2014, Open Range will offer service to approximately six million people in 17 states through its 4G WiMAX network. Using the latest technology, the Company will enable communities to improve safety, economic growth, education and quality of life while remaining competitive in the age of global communications.
