FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A new facility for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is in the works in Fort Wayne.
Crews broke ground on Birchwood Friday.
It will be a 10,000-square feet facility near the intersection of State Road 14 and Glencarin Boulevard.
Organizers said it will feature a warm, home-like environment, including a library, dining room, activities area and garden.
Birchwood should be open around the first of next year.
