FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The National Christmas Tree in Washington D.C. will have a little touch of Fort Wayne this year.

The Foundation for Art and Music Education , or FAME, was chosen to create Indiana's ornaments for this year's tree.

The tree is one of America's oldest holiday traditions. Each state creates 24 ornaments to decorate the tree. All 24 of Indiana's will be made in Fort Wayne.

"It's quite an honor to be representing the whole state. We've talked about it with our students and they're all using symbols of Indiana to represent their pride in our state," Heather Miller, the FAME Foundation board president, said.

The ornaments will be on display at Fort Wayne's Auer Center until November 1 before they are shipped to D.C.
