ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - There will be a moment of silence in Allen County on Friday, December 21 at 9:30 a.m. to honor the Newtown shooting victims.

Connecticut’s governor, Daniel Malloy, sent a letter to all of the governors in the United States, asking them to participate in a moment of silence.

The Allen County Board of Commissioners are requesting that people who live in Allen County participate in the moment of silence in memory of the 20 children and six educators who died in the shooting on December 14.

“We grieve along with the families in Connecticut, and in this small way we can show that we hold them in our thoughts and prayers,” Commissioner Therese Brown said.
