FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Indiana Association of Realtors® has released its May housing report for the State of Indiana, and they're calling it one of the best months for Indiana.
"Pent-up demand and continued low interest rates are the two main reason May, like April, was one of the best months the statewide housing market has seen in years," said Karl Berron, CEO of the Indiana Association of Realtors®.
"Plus, home values across Indiana have historically held value, so real estate here (in Indiana) is still viewed as a wise investment."
Northeast Indiana, according to the reports data , is outpacing the rest of the state as a whole for month-to-month and year-to-date home sales and median sale prices.
Indiana saw May 2012 sales increase 17 percent compared to May 2011. While counties in northeast Indiana saw gains of 22-percent.
The numbers for Indiana and northeast Indiana counties are below.

Some counties that show large percentages are a result of a smaller number of sales. Such as, an increase of homes sold from 3 to 5 would show significant percentage increases opposed to 300 to 315.
