Marion police investigating early morning homicide

MARION, Ind. (WANE) - The Marion Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning.  Officers were dispatched to 108 East 15th St. of a reported shooting at 12:06 a.m.  When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male suffering from what they believed to be a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to the Marion General Hospital where he later died.

The police department said Saturday afternoon that the investigation is ongoing, and there is no further information at this time.

Marion police are asking anyone with potential information about this case to please contact the Marion Police Department Dispatch Center at (765) 662-9981 and ask for Captain Jay Kay or Sgt. Del Garcia.

Potential witnesses or individuals with information can also call Crime Stoppers at (765) 662-9981.
