Erica Wehrmeister has been named Lutheran Hospital's new Chief Operating Officer. She has worked at Dupont Hospital since 2010.
She began as COO on January 1. Her responsibilities at Lutheran include oversight of laboratory and radiology operations, biomedical engineering, environmental services, surgery, rehab, pharmacy and nutritional services.
“Erica has a wealth of clinical experience and is a strong advocate for the patient,” said Lutheran Hospital CEO Brian Bauer. “Those are great attributes to have when your primary focus is the daily operations of the organization. We’re already benefitting from her tireless work ethic and her strong relationships in the community and among the members of the medical staff.”
Wehrmeister earned a Purdue University associate degree in nursing from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2000 and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ball State University in 2009. She completed her MBA/MHA from Indiana Tech in 2011. She’s active in the community and has served on several boards including the Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau and Super Shot.
“I am very passionate about healthcare and love coming to work every day because I know that we are truly making a difference in our patients’ lives,” said Wehrmeister. “I am very honored and excited to be Lutheran Hospital’s COO.”
