Longtime Republican chairman re-elected

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Republicans in Allen County have decided to continue Steve Shine’s tenure as the local party chairman.

Shine was up for re-election after serving in the position for 20 years and had been challenged by Jason Arp.

Precinct committee people gathered at South Side High School Saturday morning to vote on leadership.  Shine won by a vote of 144-25.

A party chairman is elected every four years.
