FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - There were several local Memorial Day events on Monday remembering and honoring our nation’s many Veterans past and present.
Fort Wayne's annual parade kicked off at 11:00 Monday morning, at Parnell and State. It ended at the Coliseum, with a ceremony outside Memorial Hall.
Waynedale's parade wound it's way down Old Trail Road early Monday morning. Hundreds lined the streets as bands, veterans groups and scouts marched down the road.
And in Auburn, the National Military History Center hosted its annual Memorial Day Remembrance.
Since this is a holiday, Fort Wayne and Allen County offices are closed. There will be no garbage or recycling pickup, and the rest of the week's collection will be pushed back by one day.
