FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Have you ever wished you could limit how fast your teenager can drive when he or she borrows your car?

Thanks to Ford's new MyKey feature, you can.

Company officials were showing it off at Dimension Ford in Fort Wayne Friday.

It lets parents set restrictions on their cars to keep teen drivers safe.

They can set a maximum speed of 80 miles per hour and limit the volume on the radio so teenagers can hear emergency vehicles.

MyKey will also mute the audio in the car's speakers if the driver and passenger are not buckled up.

"This is going to be a standard feature on all vehicles [and] will come at no additional cost," says Ford spokesperson Megan Whatman. "We don't want parents to have to choose between keeping their budgets in line and keeping their teens safe behind the wheel."

Right now, MyKey comes with every 2010 Ford Focus and Fusion. Eventually, it'll be standard all across the Ford-Lincoln-Mercury lines.
