FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - About a dozen protestors got together outside Evan Bayh's Fort
Wayne office Thursday.
They were urging him not to block a vote on a health care
overhaul.
The liberal activist group MoveOn.org put the rally together.
So far, Senator Bayh hasn't committed to a position on health
care reform.
"We think that Hoosiers want real reform, real competition, and real choice, so basically we're here to let Evan Bayh know that this would be the fiscally responsible thing to do," said demonstrator Michael Oxenrider.
Evan Bayh's office sent us this statement:
"Senator Bayh is an independent voice in the United States
Senate and will do what is right for Indiana. He hopes to have the
opportunity to vote on a bill that will bring down the federal
deficit and make health insurance coverage more affordable for
Hoosier families and small businesses."
