Grillin' for Babies fundraiser in FW

Org. tries to raise four thousand dollars

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A local group grilled out for a good cause Friday. Farmers Insurance Group sponsored a cook out to raise money for the March of Dimes.

The 1 p.m. event was held at the Farmers Insurance District office at 6502 Constitution Drive. Mayor Tom Henry attended the event, called "Grilln for Babies." Henry participated by doing some of the grilling. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and bratwurst were on the menu.

According to a press release from Farmers Insurance, the company is one of the largest corporate sponsors for the March of Dimes, which raises money to help premature babies. The release notes that the company raises more than 3 million dollars every year.

A spokesperson for Famrers Insurance said the organization hoped to raise $4,000 during Friday's event.
