FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -
The following information was provided by the Better Business
Bureau:
A Northern Indiana consumers contacted BBB regarding a
company that is going door-to-door selling home security systems.
The consumer informed us that a Mr. Sullivan from APX told her the
company was with the BBB. They are not. In fact, they have a D-
rating with 1,534 complaints and government actions on their
record. For a full report, please go to

The consumer was very concerned about this person's selling
tactics. Mr. Sullivan informed her that her system was obsolete,
although it was only a 1 ½ years old, because "electronics
have been updated since the time hers was installed." He told her
that "someone could easily hack into her system or that she was
vulnerable in the event someone should cut her line."
"This is the perfect time for door-to-door sales," said
Michael Coil, President/CEO of the BBB of Northern Indiana. "The
BBB warns consumers not to let anyone they do not know into their
home and to contact the BBB or go to www.bbb.org for a full report
before making a purchasing decision. Play it safe."
