AUBURN, Ind. (WANE) -  The slogan: Better ingredients. Better Pizza. Papa John's. And, now one of their best employees is in Auburn.

It's one week away from Super Bowl 47, and the General Manager of the Auburn Papa John's has won a trip of his lifetime.

"After I realized this was actually going to happen, it was cool for me," said Steve True, the General Manager for the Auburn and Warsaw Papa John's.

Eight years ago, True started as a driver for the company and worked his way up. He said he never imagined being where he is today, being nominated as one of the top general managers in the more than 4,000 Papa John's restaurants internationally.

The nomination includes the prize of an all-expense paid trip to Super Bowl 47, with a chance to walk the red carpet at the Awards Show, tickets to the official tailgate party, and seats on the 50 yard line at the big game Sunday.

The competition was based on sales growth, secret shoppers that come in and rate the food product, and customer service.

"You know we become like family, so when one of your family is nominated and getting the recognition you feel they’ve deserved all along, there’s nothing but excitement behind it," said Stephanie Baker, True's operating partner.

The winners of the competition will be officially announced at a company banquet at the end of March.
