FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - After serving two years as the local NAACP President, Paulette Nellems is resigning from the organization.
This is the resignation letter she has sent to Barbara Bolling, head of the Indiana NAACP and to NewsChannel 15:
Effective immediately, I am resigning as President of the local branch of the NAACP. Please remove my name from the ballot for the upcoming election to be held on December 29, 2012 at the Allen County Public Library. It has been a pleasure serving the NAACP.
Nellems states the reason for her resignation is "the NAACP, as well as the local Branch, appears to be moving in a different direction."
