AIDS memorial held at Lindenwood

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - In connection with the worldwide International AIDS Candlelight Memorial held on the third Sunday of May, Lindenwood Cemetery will host its service at 4:00 p.m.

According to its web site , the Memorial is the oldest and grassroots campaign for HIV/AIDS awareness in the world.

As part of Lindenwood’s involvement, the cemetery, located at 2324 West Main Street in Fort Wayne, will be installing new bricks into the walkway remembering some that have died from AIDS.

Lindenwood plans to have The 25 Voice Children’s Choir sing and the Fort Wayne Police Department Color Guard and Bagpipes perform.

Guest speakers include Pastor Kelly Byrd from Blackhawk Ministries, Pastor Ruth Phillips from Plymoth Congregational Church and retired Pastor William Deans. Councilman Tom Didier will also be involved in the program.
