FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A Life Care Center patient gets the gift of going home for Christmas to spend with her family.

Quiana Woodson, 34, has multiple sclerosis. She was diagnosed in 2008. Since then, she has been a patient at Life Care Center. Woodson's mother, Janice Williams, said it's been difficult not having her daughter around the house.

"I went through a bad period without Keke [Quiana]. But I try to be up there as much as I can because I love my daughter," Williams said.

Woodson's sister, LaQusa Woodson, was at work when she received the call that her sister would be coming home. Before the phone call, LaQusa said she and her mother talked about her coming home for the holidays.

"The day of two before the call, me and my mom were just talking how we wanted her to come home, so that was a blessing," LaQusa said.

Three Rivers Ambulance Authority brought Quiana home, free of charge. Robert Jones, paramedic for TRAA, has been doing this for several years and said this brings a smile to his face to see the happiness of the families.

"It's a real joy to be able to see people basically put smile on the faces of people that is normally sad or depressed on that day," said Jones.

Quiana will only be home for a few hours, and then return to the Life Care Center.
