FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A kitchen fire damaged a home Sunday evening on the city's south side.
Around 10 p.m., Fort Wayne firefighters were called to a home in the 600 block of West Packard Avenue after a fire stared in the kitchen, according to a FWFD report.
Firefighters needed about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.
Fire officials said a resident told them they were heating up a pan with grease for cooking when it caught fire. The fire heavily damaged the kitchen, according to a report.
The rest of the house had moderate smoke and water damage.
No injuries were reported to an adult and two children who made it out safely.
The report said the home did not have a working smoke detector.
