FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  University Police at IPFW have released surveillance pictures of a man suspected of stealing a purse out of a campus parking garage.

According to University Police Detective Sergeant Cleveland Inge, a man was seen “casing” cars on March 21. He's accused of taking an IPFW student’s car and leaving campus in what was described as a black 4-door vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen Passat.

The suspect drove to Star Bank on Coventry Lane and tried several times to withdraw money from the victim’s account using the victim’s debit card. The suspect and another white male passenger in the vehicle’s front seat were photographed by bank security cameras.

The passenger can be seen trying to cover his face from the camera.

The driver is described as 18 to 23 years of age, with a short haircut and no facial hair.

If anyone has any information on the identity of the suspect, please contact Det. Sgt. Inge at 260-481-0737.
