Fort Wayne International Airport had their annual media day on Wednesday. Officials took the opportunity to discuss their plan for growth for the airport.
Leaders say recent airline consolidations have not hurt the facility and that business is actually up 1.5 percent from last year at this time. They also say when the time is right, they hope more flights will be added to the Fort Wayne facility.
"We would love to see a D.C. service or a Denver service, possibly even Houston. There's a lot of activity going to those areas and we think we can support that," said Executive Director of Airports, Scott Hinderman
While not in a hurry to expand Fort Wayne's services, officials say they FWA will be ready when the opportunity arises.
