FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Officials at Indiana Tech announced their plans Tuesday to build a 70,000 square foot facility on campus for its new law school.

The building will be located on the west side of campus, at the corner of Maumee Avenue and Comparet Street. It will house classrooms, offices, the law library, a trial courtroom, a legal clinic, and a cafe.

“Having the law school on the campus will provide many more opportunities for the law school community to interact with the rest of campus and vice versa,” said Peter Alexander, founding dean of the law school. “The location also is close to downtown, which will allow us to foster close working relationships beween law school faculty and students and the local bench and bar.”

The building will cost approximately $15 million, and is expected to be completed by July 2013.

The Indiana Tech Law School will officially open in the fall of 2013 with an initial class of 100.
