Ind. Secretary of State Connie Lawson urges Hoosiers to register to vote

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Terra Brantley sat down with Secretary of State Connie Lawson to talk about voter registration on Tuesday, just 35 days before the election.

 Voters across the country will head to the polls to make decisions on our future... that is if they're registered in time.

The deadline to register in Indiana is Tuesday, Oct. 9. 

Registrations can be made in person at the Allen County Voter Registration office , at 1 West Superior Street, Suite 111, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

On Monday, October 8, the A llen County Voter Registration Office will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, October 9, it will open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These are extended hours.

All mail-in registrations must be postmarked no later than October 9 to be processed for the 2012 General Election. New registrations received by mail must include documentation verifying the voter's name and address.

Online voter registrations must be submitted to www.indianavoters.com by 11:59 p.m. on October 9.

Contact the Allen County Voter Registration Office with any questions at (260) 449-7154 Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
