HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - There were a number of customers without power in Huntington County late last night, as many as 1,015, but the sheriff's department tells us the power is back on.
Duke Energy's website showed 1,015 customers without power well into Saturday evening.
Around 10 p.m., Saturday there were nearly 700 outages.
Huntington County Sheriff's Department dispatchers told NewsChannel 15 that a car hit a power pole around 6 p.m.and that caused the outages.
After the outage numbers kept going up, NewsChannel 15 called dispatchers again. The dispatcher said he wasn't aware of any other causes for the outages or when it would be back on. He said his officer in Markle, where many of the outages were reported, said the power was back on there around 11 p.m.
