FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The warmer weather early Friday morning has drawn out tons of Black Friday shoppers. Many of them lined up at stores before midnight.
For a lot of shoppers it was their first time coming out at midnight, but they said they couldn't help themselves.
On Black Friday a lot of bargain hunters live by an old saying - the early bird gets the worm. Or in this case the TV, XBOX or cheap movies.
"It has been pretty crazy I guess," first time Black Friday shopper Jake Irven said.
"The deals were so go we couldn't pass it up," shopper Sherri Cozad explained.
Some shoppers lined up Thanksgiving night so they could be the first few to grab some of the great Black Friday deals.
"TVs were a big one. And we got our TVs."
"I'm buying and XBOX 360 because it's a $400 value and I'm getting it for $200," Irven said.
NewsChannel 15's Megan Reust caught up with the man who was the first in line at the Apple Glen Best Buy. He said waiting in line since Wednesday paid off.
"Yup, definitely. I got all of the things I wanted," shopper Keith Smitt said.
There are mixed reviews from Black Friday shoppers on the turnout this year.
"A lot of pushing. Trying to get through the aisles and having to turn carts around. We went back around the outside of the store a couple of times just because we couldn't get through the lines to just get up to the checkouts it was that long," Cozad said.
"It wasn't as intense as I thought it was going to be. I thought I was going to have to punch someone. But, luckily I didn't have to," Irven explained.
"This was more tame. It took a long time to actually form a line. I mean even mid-day today there was hardly a lot of people here," Smitt said.
