FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Power of Love proved one thing Friday night: It can still sell out a theatre.

Huey Lewis and the News performed before a sellout crowd at the Foellinger Theatre in Fort Wayne. It was the kickoff to the summer concert series at the theatre.

Even though the band is no longer topping the charts and churning out multi-platinum albums like it did in the 1980s, lead singer Lewis told NewsChannel 15 he still enjoys the thrill of performing.

"The challenges for us now are creative," said Lewis. "I mean, the gig is sold out, fortunately. So that's really all along what has been the object: to be able to play and have people show up."

NewsChannel 15's Nicholas Ferreri interviewed Lewis before the concert. Check it out by clicking on the video in this story.
