ROANOKE, Ind. (WANE) Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire at 14,800 block of Winters Road in Roanoke around 2:15 p.m. on Monday.

According to crews on the scene, no one was home when the single-story home caught fire. The owner was out of the house caring for animals in the yard and said the house was on fire when he went back.

Six fire departments responded to help with supplying water to put out the fire as there were no fire hydrants in the rural locations.
