FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Fire Department is investigating a house fire on 3516 Congress Ave. that occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Friday night.
Authorities said the fire started in the basement of the home and did not extend to the other floors of the house. However, the second floor of the home did receive smoke and water damage.
One person was in the home at the time. They escaped with burns and were taken to the hospital.
The fire is under investigation.
