FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - It was dogs for dogs Saturday in Fort Wayne. Hot dogs to help police dogs, that is.

Dawson's Dogs will donate 20 percent of Saturday's sales to the Indiana State Police K-9 unit.

"Without the community, without the grants, we wouldn't have a K-9 team on the state police. We've gone up to 38 teams now, and I believe we're graduating four more coming up here soon. They're all funded through the community," Mike Carroll, a state trooper and a K-9 handler for the state police, said.

This is the first time Dawson's Dogs has donated to the K-9 unit.
