FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Lamp Lighters Hockey Ministry put on the 10,000 Pucks World Record event on Saturday, November 17 at Spiece Fitness.

Guy Dupuis and Eddie Long, former Fort Wayne Komet captains, hosted the event.

The goal of the fundraiser was to take 10,000 street hockey shots in one day, the most ever by a group of people.

The group did break their goal of 10,000 shots and set a new world record.

Each shooter was responsible for raising $1 for every shot they commit to take. All proceeds from the event will go towards launching Lamp Lighters Hockey Ministry's program, the "Hockey Mobile".

The "Hockey Mobile" is a trailer packed with street hockey equipment. The trailer will travel to different locations around Fort Wayne on a weekly basis to engage the community in active lifestyles through playing street hockey.

"I think it's important to give back to the community what the community has given to you," Eddie Long, former Komets player, said.
