FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Headwaters Park celebrated its 200,000th ice skater on Thursday since the rink opened in November of 2003.
The skater, Anna Colbourne, was awarded with a gift basket, including items from Fort Wayne area merchants, and a season pass to ice skate for free for the rest of the season.
"It was a huge surprise. I definitely didn't expect to come out here and win anything," Colbourne said.
Colbourne said she has been living in Fort Wayne for seven years and she goes ice skating at Headwaters Park at least once a year.
Geoff Paddock, of Headwaters Park Alliance, said they usually have between 20,000 and 25,000 skaters each season. The rates have not changed since the rink opened in 2003.
