FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Heritage of Fort Wayne held their groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday for its living center, which will be located at 8200 St. Joe Road.

The new 90,000-square-foot facility will house around 65 beds consisting of residential and assisting-living apartments, private healthcare suites, memory care assisted living and private healthcare suites, and private rehabilitation suites.

United Methodist Memorial Home owns and operates The Heritage of Fort Wayne, The Villas at Heritage Lakes, Heritage Pointe in Warren, and The Heritage of Huntington.

The Heritage of Fort Wayne is expected to open in late 2013. The facility will have about 100 employees.
