WABASH, Ind. (WANE) - A third grade girl from Wabash set up a teddy bear drive to donate to all of the children who survived the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Kenlie Lambert started Kenlie's Teddy Bear Drive, which allows people to donate money or teddy bears that will be given to the kids in Newtown.
In just four days she has collected more than 160 bears.
Kenlie said she knows what it's like to lose a friend and she wants the surviving kids to be able to have fun after the tragedy.
"My friend Aliaha, she died by drowning, so it was hard for me. So, I just thought if it was hard for me, it shouldn't be hard for everybody else. It should be nice to give something to them," Kenlie said.
Kenlie plans to go to Connecticut herself to deliver the bears in person.
You can drop off teddy bears or monetary donations at the following sites:
Memorial donations can also be sent to Mutual Bank at 1307 N. Cass St Wabash, IN 46992
