ALBION, Ind. (WANE) - The Indiana Heart Gallery, which displays pictures of children in Indiana’s foster care system, will be in Albion from September 1-11.

An inspiring photo exhibit featuring candid images of Indiana children waiting to be adopted will be on display at Whistle Stop Pizza, 112 N. Orange St., Albion, Ind.

The Gallery of professionally produced photographs is intended to increase awareness among families about Indiana children of all ages who are currently available for adoption. Photographers volunteer their time and talents to capture each child's unique spirit in portraits that have helped many of them find homes.

Hosted by the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) and Hederick Partnerships, the Heart Gallery will provide an opportunity for families to consider giving a child a forever home.

According to DCS Special Needs Adoption Program Director Helen Stevenson-Williams, "Many of the children photographed in the exhibit have been waiting to find a family to love and support them. By sharing their stories and portraits, we hope to find a loving family for each of them."

The Indiana Heart Gallery is free and open to the public Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 11 p.m. and Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Heart Galleries are traveling exhibits that provide special opportunities for families to consider adopting one or more of the children who are featured.
