FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo hosted a Summer Job Fair on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pavilion #1 in Franke Park.

The zoo accepted applications for around 75 seasonal positions, including:

  • Guest service positions at the food concessions
  • Gift shops
  • Admission gate
  • Rides
  • Operations support

All of the openings are temporary, seasonal positions. The jobs range from 15 to 40 hours per week during the zoo's season, which is mid-April through mid-October.

Cheryl Piropato, of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, said the best candidates are people who like to be around other people.

"We see half a million guests every year, so if you want to be around a lot of people, the zoo is the place to do that. Having great guest service skills is number one," Piropato said.

Piropato said if you missed the fair on Saturday, you can still apply for a seasonal position online.
