FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) After receiving multiple Report !t submissions from viewers on closures at the VA hospital, WANE sent a crew to the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System-Fort Wayne Campus at 2121 Lake Ave to investigate. The NewsChannel 15 crew was handed the following statement by hospital officials:

VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System ( VANIHCS) has temporarily paused inpatient operations on the Intensive Care Unit and the Acute Medical Unit, at the Fort Wayne Campus to afford us the opportunity to review our processes, provide training to our staff, and ensure our continued ability to maintain the most flexible systems and highest standard of care for our Veterans.

All other services at VANIHCS remain unaffected and will continue to be provided to Veterans. The needs of all Veterans requiring inpatient medical care or Veterans scheduled for surgeries requiring inpatient support will be met utilizing our community partners and other VA Medical Centers.

We apologize for any inconveniece this may cause. Please know that we are working continuously to further strengthen the services we provide to our Veterans. Our commitment to our Nation's heroes remains strong.
