Fort Wayne native creates fund to support YMCA

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne native John Walley sold his condominium and created a permanted designated fund to support the YMCA through the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne.

Walley, now 93 years old, waived his claim to the condominium which was sold on Thursday, October 4. All of the proceeds of this sale were put directly into Walley Family Endowment Fund to support the YMCA.

“John Walley was a dedicated YMCA supporter throughout the years and he also supported a number of other community endeavors, as well. We are honored to be the beneficiary of this fund which will support our programs for the community and the YMCA is also honored to be associated with this prominent man and touched by his gift," Marty Pastura, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne, said.
