FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne hosted the largest Hamfest and Computer Expo in Indiana on November 17 and 18.

The event featured amateur radio equipment, vendors, emergency equipment, and more.

Jim Boyer, the Hamfest chairman, said this year was the 40th anniversary for the event.

"There are 300,000 amateur radio operators in the United States and about 10,000 or so in Indiana alone, so there is a lot of interest here," Boyer said.

Boyer said people come to the event to socialize with other amateur radio operators. Some of these people are meeting face to face for the first time.
