FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo will be closing for the 2012 season on Sunday, October 14.
More than 474,000 visitors came to the zoo this year.
Several baby animals were born this season, including a colobus monkey, a miniature donkey foal, a penguin chick, and seven dingo pups.
On Saturday, October 13 from 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM, the zoo will celebrate African Penguin Awareness Day. Zoo guests can talk with zoo keepers and participate in special activities designed to showcase the zoo’s flock of African black-footed penguins.
The Wild Zoo Halloween will open on Friday, October 19 at noon.
