FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fishing enthusiasts from around the world arrived in Fort Wayne this week for the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club.

The three day convention began Thursday at the Grand Wayne Center at 1020 S. Calhoun Street. It's scheduled to wrap up Saturday, July 21.

The event attracts an international crowd. More than 1,000 collectors from around the world are expected to attend the three-day event.

According to the group's website, The National Fishing Lure Collectors Club is a non-profit, educational, international organization founded in 1976.

The primary objectives of the NFLCC are to foster an awareness of fishing tackle collecting as a hobby and to assist members in the location, identification, and trading of vintage fishing-related equipment.
