Fort Wayne's first New Year's baby born at Lutheran hospital

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The first baby from the Fort Wayne area born in 2013 arrived just after midnight on January 1 at Lutheran Hospital.

Alex weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 and a half inches long. He and his mother, Nancy are both doing well. 

The first baby of the new year at Dupont, Lutheran, and St. Joseph hospitals all received a special gift basket from Cheer Baskets on West Jefferson Boulevard.

Since the start of the new millennium, Lutheran Hospital has welcomed Fort Wayne's New Year's Baby six times.
