FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Firefighters were called to a house fire at 1932 Saint Mary's Avenue around 4:55 p.m. Sunday.

Fire crews battled heavy fire and smoke from the rear of the house. Firefighters removed the siding from the house to get to the fire inside of the home's walls. According to the FWFD, the home did not have a working smoke detector.
Officials said the fire was under control in about ten minutes.
Firefighters said nobody was inside of the house and there were no injuries.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, TRAA, AEP, and NIPSCO.
