FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne firefighters battled a fire at Mullinix Packages on Engle Road Sunday night. Investigators said the fire started in high voltage electrical equipment and spread to some stored material near by.

Crews were dispatched to 3511 Engle Road around 5:10 p.m. Firefighters said about 100 employees were inside at the time of the fire, but they got out safely before firefighters arrived.

When firefighters arrived, they had to wait for AEP to come and shut the power down before they could fight the flames. The sprinkler system was activated and helped contain the fire.

Once the electricity was turned off, firefighters got the fire under control quickly. It was ruled under control at 6 p.m. No one was hurt fighting the fire.

It's not clear what caused the fire to start in the electrical equipment.
