Fire destroys Spencerville barn

SPENCERVILLE, Ind. (WANE) -- A barn on County Road 61 burned to the ground after it caught fire Saturday afternoon.  Someone saw smoke and and called emergency officials around 2:00 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, crews had to put out flames that had spread to trees near the barn.

It took fire crews about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.

A home near the barn was not damaged and no one was inside it when the barn caught fire. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
