NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) - Fire destroyed a home in the 12000 block of Highway 24 in New Haven early Saturday.
The fire was called into dispatchers at 1:08 a.m. Crews from New Haven Adams Township Fire and EMS arrived at the scene eight minutes later. The Woodburn Fire Department was also called to assist in battling the blaze.
Heavy smoke and flames were seen coming from the back of the house.
A man living at the residence woke up to the smoke detector’s alarm and was able to escape unharmed.
