FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fire crews were on the scene of the Von Maur department store at Jefferson Pointe at around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department said people smelled smoke inside of the store.
Officials said customers and employees inside Von Maur were evacuated around 4:00 p.m.
The fire department left the scene just before 4:30 p.m. and officials said everyone was allowed back inside the store.
