FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort Wayne's Biosolids Facility has resumed its normal hours of operation. The facility, at 6210 Lake Avenue, just west of Maplecrest Road, is open Monday thru Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
In the aftermath of the June 29 storm, as a convenience to residents, the facility is continuing to allow residents to dispose of tree debris free of charge, through Friday, July 13. On Saturday, July 14, the facility will return to its regular fee schedule – which is $17.00 per ton with a $1 minimum.
For immediate disposal, trees and branches can be taken to three additional drop-off sites. They are:
City crews will also pick up debris that is placed on the curb – but not in the streets or in alleys. Curbside pickup will take place for several weeks and is not part of regular residential garbage pick-up.
