FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Farmer's Market fans in Fort Wayne won't have to wait until next summer to shop. The market will be open through the winter inside part of Parkview Field.
There were 40 local vendors at the market Saturday. People can buy a range of products from produce, fresh meats and eggs, baked goods, pasta and homemade crafts.
"These are all small businesses who need a place to be able to sell all year round. This is their livelihood, this is what they do for a living. So, we're trying to provide a venue for them to grow as a small business and also to meet the growing need in Fort Wayne for fresh, organic, healthy, and not so healthy fun foods to make it through the winter," Gina Kostoff, with the Urban Enterprise Association, said.
The Farmer's Market is open the first Saturday of each month all winter from 9 a.m. to noon.
